Polk County in Crookston, MN has an opening for a Preventive Maintenance Technician in the Highway Department. The primary duty for this position is maintenance and repair work on highway department vehicles and equipment used in county operations. This position also operates various types of equipment used to maintain county facilities, such as county roads, buildings and other public facilities; including but not limited to trucks, forklift, grass mowers, etc.  Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have five (5) years of experience in equipment and shop maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Associate’s degree or technical certificate in related field with experience is preferred. Must have a valid Minnesota Commercial Class “A” Driver’s License (CDL) and good driving record. Must have MN/DOT Truck Inspector Certification or have the ability to obtain certification with a reasonable period of time. Will be required to furnish and have on hand own tools at all times. Wage range for this position is $17.09 - $21.72/hour; DOE and qualifications.

Polk County has an opening for a full-time Custodian I position in the Facilities Department.  This position has a primary work location in a jail setting at the Justice Center. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, emptying trash, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors; cleaning restrooms; and ordering and stocking supplies. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous custodial or cleaning experience is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. This position requires the ability to work rotating weekends. Wage range for this benefited position is $12.05 – $15.31/hour; DOE and qualifications.
