Arrest/Fire Report – Wednesday, April 21, 2021

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center reported the arrest of the following –
Dania Dawn Leigh Vargas, 30 of Grand Forks, for drugs – 3rd degree – possession of methamphetamine/amphetamine in a school, park, public housing zone.

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls on Tuesday, April 20 –

At 12:00 p.m., the CFD responded to the 1500 block of Stephens Drive for a carbon monoxide detector activation. Upon investigation, the CFD did find readings of high levels of carbon monoxide. CFD ventilated naturally by opening windows and doors, and it was found that the high levels had been caused by a motor vehicle that had been running. Once CO levels lowered, CFD turned over control to the homeowner and cleared the scene.

At 4:27 p.m., the CFD responded to the 500 block of Washington Avenue for a clothes dryer smoking. Upon investigation, it was found the smoke was caused by a malfunction of the dryer and there was no danger present. CFD turned over control to the homeowner and cleared the scene.
