On Wednesday, the June Shaver Estate announced the 2022 gifts to the Crookston High School and other Crookston Community Organizations. Shaver passed away in 2014, and the estate has donated in Shaver’s honor ever since.

Dave Aamoth of Edward Jones manages the estate and said it’s an honor for him. “It really is an honor to be in this position,” said Aamoth. “I had the opportunity to work with June for several years, and it was a great friendship. She really believed in investing in the community, and it’s nice that we can see that legacy carry on.”

This year the estate donated $119,000, which is the largest annual gift ever given. Each of the seven organizations received $16,303, and an eighth organization (Crookston High School Drama Club) will receive $4,879. In total, the estate has now donated around $800,000, according to Aamoth.

The organizations receiving funds were –
Crookston Pirates Athletic Boosters
Crookston Pirates Fine Arts Boosters
Crookston High School Health Care Scholarship Fund
RiverView Foundation
Crookston Community Theatre
Crookston Civic Music League
Crookston Care and Share
Crookston High School Drama Club

Annette Hegg was one of June’s best friends, and Aamoth talked about her position with the estate. “June chose Annette to be in charge of this because she was one of the people that she trusted the most,” said Aamoth. “She’s done a great job with the organizations and being a friend in the community and also being a friend of ours and helping us out.”
