The Crookston High School Drama Department will be holding their One-Act-Play “Brian the comet” on Monday, January 24, at 7:30 p.m. The show will be in the Crookston High School Auditorium and cost to attend is free.

North Star 4-H Club is hosting a Winter Gear Drive.  Hats, mittens, and socks are being collected for youth in Polk County in need of warm winter gear. Donations can be dropped off at: Cathedral Church, Our Saviors Church, Crookston Library, and Northwest Regional Extension Office at UMC through January 31. The Crookston Home Delivered Meals will be delivered by the American Legion this week.

The Fertile Public Library will have a story time for preschoolers and caregivers today at 10:30 a.m.

The Crookston Eagles will have Jackpot Bingo tonight at 6:30 p.m. with a $1,000 must go final blackout! There will also be Meat Raffles, Horse Races, and the kitchen will be open serving food. Karaoke will then take place beginning at 9:00 p.m.

The Crookston Eagles will have Bingo on Saturday, January 22, at 3:00 p.m. with a $400 must go final blackout.

The Crookston Home Delivered Meals will be delivered by the Kiwanis 100’s and Leo Club January 24-28.

The Golden Link will offer Guitar Lessons on Monday, January 24, at 10:30 a.m., and have a Sit, Stand, and Dance Class at 2:00 p.m.

The Crookston School Board will meet on Monday, January 24, at 5:00 p.m. inside the Crookston High School Choir/Orchestra room. The meeting is open to the public.

The Crookston City Council will meet on Monday, January 24, at 7:00 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers. A Ways and Means Committee meeting will take place at the conclusion of the City Council meeting.

The Crookston Lions are sponsoring a Crookston two-day Community Blood Drive on Tuesday, January 25, from 12:15-6:00 p.m., and Wednesday, January 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The event will be hosted at Trinity Lutheran Church, to sign up, contact Linda Morgan at 218-289-5006.

The Golden Link will have Pinochle on Tuesday, January 25, at 1:00 p.m., Recycled Cards at 1:00 p.m., and a SAIL Exercise Class at 2:30 p.m.

The Crookston High School will participate in the Knowledge Bowl at Thief River Falls on Wednesday, January 26, beginning at 9:45 a.m.`

The Golden Link will have Men’s Cards on Wednesday, January 26, at 8:00 a.m., Experienced Cribbage at 10:00 a.m., and Bridge Group at 12:30 p.m.

The Fisher American Legion will have burger night on Wednesday, January 26.

The Crookston Public Library will have a Storytime for preschoolers and caregivers Thursday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. There will be stories, songs, puppets, crafts, and lots of fun.

The Golden Link will have Smear on Thursday, January 27, at 1:00 p.m., Beginners Cribbage at 1:00 p.m., and a SAIL Exercise Class at 2:30 p.m.

The Crookston Prom committee will be having a Baked Potato Bar and Fixings on Thursday, January 27, at the Crookston High School from 4:30-8:00 p.m. The Boys Basketball team will be playing Climax-Fisher that night. This will be a free will offering.

Catholic Schools Week is January 30-Februrary 4. To kick off Catholic Schools Week, the Crookston Fire Department will be hosting a pancake breakfast Sunday January 30th, from 10:00 -11:30 a.m. that will be open to the public.

The Crookston Public Library will be hosting an event “Sip & Paint” on Wednesday, February 23, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Crookston Library. The event will be hosted by librarian Jane Berg. Adults are invited to learn how to paint their own masterpiece while enjoying wine provided by Irishman’s Shanty. Covid-19 precautions will be followed. Masks must be worn in all RiverView facilities and screening for illness will take place as you enter the facility.

The Celebrate the Young Child Collaboration is inviting parents and their children to “Imagine If You Were the Very Hungry Caterpillar” on Tuesday, March 1, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library. There will be many fun activities for parents to engage in with their children. Registration is not required, and the event is free.

The Crookston Early Childhood Family Education will be hosting a Special Focus Class “Baby and Me” on Monday, March 14, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Washington School. The class is for ages birth to 11 months old. Parents can meet other parents and enjoy time with their new babies. The class will be focused on sensory and movement activities. The Crookston Public Library’s Books & Brews Book Club meet the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 6:30 p.m. at Drafts Sports Bar and Grill. They will discuss books and enjoy beverages. Appetizers are provided by the Friends of the Crookston Public Library; participants are responsible for the cost of their own food and drinks. All are welcome.
