POLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY DINNER AND AWARDS NIGHT

The Polk County Historical Society celebrated its 86th Anniversary with a dinner and awards presentation on Saturday at Crookston Inn.  President Gerald Amiot presented the President’s Certificate of Appreciation to Twyla Altepeter.  The events guest speaker was author Joy Riggs who read excerpts from her book “Crackerjack Bands and Hometown Boosters” about her grandfather who directed the band in Crookston for many years in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  Amiot also announced his intention to step down as the President in December.
