Benedictine Living Community Grocery and Cash Drive
The Benedictine Living Community-Crookston Mission Integration Committee is sponsoring a Grocery and Cash Drive throughout November.
Monetary donations can be dropped off at the BLC-C business office at 516 Walsh Street during normal operating hours. Grocery donations can be dropped off at either entrance of the facility. Donations will be given to Care and Share of Crookston.
3rd Annual UMC Dinner Theater Performance at the Crookston Masonic Lodge
The U of M-Crookston Theater Department is presenting the one-act comedy “The More Things Change” tonight and Saturday, November 7, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Crookston Masonic Lodge, 112 W. Robert Street. The full dinner, featuring chicken thighs, potatoes, vegetable, salad, dessert, and beverage, is $25. This 25-minute comedy centers around 2 couples: James and Joyce, along with Ralph and Nora, who somehow have a silly misunderstanding about who they actually belong to as couples, and this is the result of Joyce’s ridiculous imagination. The cast members are all full-time UMC students. Reservations are required, as there is seating for 40 each evening. First Presbyterian Food Drive
First Presbyterian Church is having a Food Drive on Sunday, November 8, 15, and 22. As the need in our community grows and funding remains limited, Care and Share of Crookston needs the community’s help to stock its shelves and keep the doors open. Every can, box, or monetary donation makes a difference. A donation drop-off box will be located outside of the sanctuary, and donations can be dropped off during normal office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.If you have questions, contact Leah Winjum at 289-3250 or 218-4276. Polk County Transfer Station
In observance of Veterans Day, the Polk County Transfer Station will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 11. Recycling will not be offered due to a large number of illegal dumps that occurred over Juneteenth earlier this summer. The transfer station will resume normal hours on Thursday, November 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Highland School Veterans Day Lunch
Highland School is inviting veterans from Highland families to join them for a complimentary lunch on Wednesday, November 11, from 10:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Highland School cafeteria. This is a small way for the students and staff to recognize, thank, and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. Veterans are asked to reserve a spot during the lunch period by calling 218-281-5600. Making a reservation will help staff plan accordingly for food preparation.
