Sign up for Golden Link’s Textured Tray class on Tuesday, July 14, at 2:30 p.m. at Queen City Art Center, 124 South Broadway. Participants will use clay, stamps, and other items to create a personalized tray over two sessions on July 14 and 21. Limit of 15 people.

NWROC Crops and Soils Day
The Northwest Research and Outreach Center (NWROC) Crops and Soils Day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, at NWROC’s Maintenance/Farm Operations building south of Polk County Hwy 71 on NWROC’s campus. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. for the morning small grains tours. You will then board the buses at 8:00 a.m. to start the tours. Lunch takes place at about noon, followed by registration for the afternoon sugarbeet tour at 12:30 p.m. and boarding the buses at 1:00 p.m.

Join the Crookston Public Library at the Grand Theatre for a free movie screening of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” on Wednesday, July 15 at 1:00 p.m. Admission is free, but please bring money for concessions.

Golden Link Ice Cream Fundraiser
The Golden Link Senior Center will host an ice cream fundraiser on Thursday, July 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Choices include $5 sundaes, $5 root beer floats, and $7 banana splits. Proceeds go toward Golden Link’s operating costs.

The Crookston Farmers Market is open every Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Downtown Square. Vendors will sell fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat, soap, crafts, jewelry, baked goods, spices, fresh flowers, plants, and more.

Join the Polk County Extension Service Master Gardener volunteers at the Crookston Public Library on Thursday, July 16, at 4:00 p.m. They will teach you everything you need to know about saving seeds for next season, including which of your plants to choose seeds from and how to harvest, prepare, and store different types of seeds.

The Science of Sleuthing with Northern Lights Council Scouting America will be on Wednesday, July 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library. Ages 5 to 13 will learn how to lift fingerprints with a pencil and tape, unmask suspects using ink chromatography, and identify mysterious white powders.

Crookston Lions and Get Kids Outdoors 45th Annual Youth Golf Tournament
The Crookston Lions and Get Kids Outdoors 45th Annual Youth Golf Tournament will be held on August 3 and 4 at the Minakwa Golf Course. August 3 is a Shotgun Start at 8:30 a.m. for 13 to 17-year-olds. 18-year-olds may golf if they’re starting their senior year. 9:00 a.m. start for 9 to 12-year-olds. On August 4, the 8-and-under will start at 9:00 a.m. Entry fee is $20 with lunch included. Park and Rec golfers or under 8 years old is $10 with lunch included. New York Kammermusiker concert series
The New York Kammermusiker 19th Annual North Dakota Winds of Change Concerts will be touring August 3-9 in Minnesota and North Dakota. They will perform on Thursday, August 6 at 2:30 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library and at the Campbell Library in East Grand Forks at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. This year’s program celebrates the musical and historical legacy of Theodore Roosevelt, whose life and influence were deeply connected to North Dakota. Audiences will enjoy a rich and diverse program spanning centuries and cultures, featuring music inspired by Roosevelt’s Dutch ancestry, his love of Shakespeare, his fascination with Icelandic history and mythology, and the vibrant musical life of the White House during his presidency.

The Crookston Gun Club will host a fall session of the DNR hunter safety training class. Class sessions will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. beginning on August 11.
