The Crookston City Council will meet on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers.

Crookston Ways and Means Committee Meeting – Canceled

The Crookston Ways and Means Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2025, has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items.

Highland Fourth Grade Orchestra

The Highland Fourth Grade orchestra will perform on Tuesday, February 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Highland Elementary.

Crookston Eagles Club

On Thursday, February 20, at 1:00 p.m. The Golden Link will have Popcorn and a Movie. The movie for Thursday afternoon will be Sully, staring Tom Hanks.

There will be Bar BINGO Progressive Jackpot on Thursday, February 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crookston Eagles Club. The kitchen will serve baskets.

Basic Life Support Renewal Class – RiverView Health

RiverView will offer a Basic Life Support (BLS) Renewal class on Thursday, Feb. 20, beginning at 6 pm. The BLS course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in various in-facility and prehospital settings. The class will be held at the RiverView Home Care Building, 721 S. Minnesota Street, Crookston. The cost of the class is $55. Call 281-9536 to register. 

Crookston Public Library – Superhero Storytime

The Crookston Public Library will have a special Superhero-themed Storytime on Friday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m.  Former Miss Moorhead and Miss River Valley 2025 Whitney McClain will read stories about superheroes. Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite hero or princess and stay for a craft after.

Basketball Game Night at UMC

Celebrate Crookston Basketball Game Night at the University of Minnesota Crookston Lysaker Gym on Friday, February 21, with games at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The Golden Eagles will take on Minnesota Duluth. The Crookston community will receive free admission and popcorn, as well as autographs, games, and giveaways.

Crookston Gun Club’s 44th Annual Family Fun Night and Awards Banquet

The Crookston Gun Club’s 44th Annual Family Fun Night and Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 22, at the Crookston Eagles Hall. Social at 6:00 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. with your choice of pork prime rib or walleye. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for under 18 years. February Fitness – Snowshoeing and Cross-Country Skiing

Polk County Public Health’s February Fitness event is snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at Fertile’s Agassiz Environmental Learning Center from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23.

Breakfast Fundraiser – Masonic Lodge for FFA State Convention Trip

A Free Will Donation Breakfast Fundraiser for the Crookston High School FFA State Convention trip will be held on Sunday, February 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, located at 112 West Robert Street in Crookston. The menu includes waffles, French Toast, gluten-free pancakes, sausage, and juice.

Crookston American Legion Auxiliary – 78th Annual Minnesota Girls State

The Crookston American Legion Auxiliary Unit 20 will again sponsor two girls to attend the 78th Annual Minnesota Girls State June 15-21. Girls who are currently high school juniors are eligible to be a candidate to attend. All Fees are paid.  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact the Crookston High School Guidance office or the Crookston American Legion Girls State Chairperson Margee Keller at 218-349-4566. The deadline to apply is March 10, 2025.

ECFE – Pool time fun

ECFE is going to the pool Monday, February 24, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Crookston Pool.  Bring your child and explore the water with them.  Exposing children to water at a young age is beneficial to them and builds their confidence in being comfortable around it.

Celebrate the Young Child – Crookston Public Library

Celebrate the young child at the Crookston Public Library on Tuesday, February 25, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  The Celebrate the Young Child Collaborative and the CALL Committee invite you to come for an adventure at the Crookston Public Library.

Crookston School Board – Working Session

A School Board Working Session will be held to discuss the 2025-2026 Budget on Wednesday, February 26, at 1:00 p.m. in the District Office Conference Room at Crookston High School.  No action will be taken at this meeting.

Crookston Eagles Camp Confidence Extravaganza

The 11th Annual Crookston Eagles Camp Confidence Extravaganza will be on Saturday, March 1, at the Crookston Eagles. Tickets will be sold at the Crookston Eagles and are $60. In return, you get a $50 Reeds Gift Card and a meal of Prime Rib or Walleye. Cocktail hour and raffle sales begin at 5:00 p.m., and supper will follow at 7:00 p.m. The raffle and auction will follow.

Early Childhood Screening in Crookston

Crookston’s Annual Early Childhood Screening will be held Wednesday and Thursday, March 5 and 6, at Washington School. If your child turns 3 years of age by March 1, 2025, or has not yet been screened, contact Brenda Crane at 281-2262 to arrange your child’s screening appointment.
 

Dreams on Ice

The Crookston Figure Skating Club, in cooperation with the Crookston Park and Rec Department, will present Dreams on Ice Gliding into the Galaxy on Saturday, March 8, at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Crookston Sports Center. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for Seniors, and students and preschoolers are free. 
 

ECFE – March Musical Madness

Join ECFE for March Musical Madness on Monday, March 24, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Highland School.  Come and enjoy music.  Musicians will entertain you and your children. Your child will have the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of many musical instruments.  Children can join in a sing-a-long or move to the music.  Enjoy the wonderful sound of live music.

Celebrate the Young Child Family Festival

Celebrate the Young Child Family Festival is Tuesday, April 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Celebrate the Young Child Collaborative invites you to come PLAY together at our CYC Family Festival at Washington School.  Many hands-on stations will be available, along with informational booths and a light meal.

End of Year Picnic for School Readiness and ECFE

The End-of-Year Picnic will be Monday, May 12, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Washington School. School Readiness and ECFE families, along with Washington staff and families, will celebrate together at a fun End-of-Year Picnic. This event offers great food and family fun. In the event of rain, activities will be held inside.

The program provides one book every month to your child for FREE from when you enroll until they turn five. Crookston Public Library – New Born Baby Talk

Every Tuesday (except for Federal Holidays), The Crookston Public Library will host New Born Baby Talk from 9:30 am. to 11:00 a.m. This is for parents with babies 0-12 weeks old. A public health nurse, parent educator, and lactation specialist will be available to answer questions about your newborn and provide support and information on your new journey of parenting.

Crookston Public Library – Books & Brews Book Club Meeting

The Crookston Public Library’s Books & Brews Book Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 6:00 p.m. at Drafts Sports Bar and Grill. They will discuss books and enjoy beverages. Appetizers are provided by the Friends of the Crookston Public Library; participants are responsible for the cost of their food and drinks. All are welcome.
