On Friday, July 24 at approximately 7:54 a.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a male suffered a gunshot wound at 111 Albert Ave NW in Fertile.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Gary Kiefert (DOB 5-14-55) was deceased. A firearm was recovered, no foul play is suspected, and the public is not at risk. This case is ongoing, autopsy pending. No further information will be released at this time.
