CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL, WAYS & MEANS COMMITTEE TO MEET MONDAY

Crookston City Council

The Crookston City Council will meet Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. There is one item on the main agenda, approving two CARES Act Small Business Grants for entities that submitted the additional requested information.

The grants are for $18,600.53 to the Cobblestone Hotel Group and $8,000 to the Oakdale Cemetery Association. All other items are on the consent agenda including approving the October 26 meeting minutes, bills, and disbursements totaling $423,324.58, approving partial payment #4 for the Final 2020 Street and Utility improvements, and approving the purchase of a live video system for the Council Chambers.

Also included on the consent agenda are resolutions calling for public hearings on November 23 for the following proposed assessments:

  • Project 972 – Radisson Road from University Avenue frontage to approximately 400 feet east of Hoven Lane by street reconstruction
  • Project 973 – 5th Ave from South Main Street to Sunflower Street by street reconstruction
  • Project 974 – Sahlstrom Drive from Fisher Avenue to North Acres Drive by bituminous mill & overlay
  • Hearing for proposed assessment for unpaid water and sewer charges and charges for current services

The Way & Means Committee will meet immediately following the City Council meeting. The agenda includes replacing Councilman Jake Fee with Councilman Joe Kresl on the Crookston Visitor’s Bureau board through the end of the year and the 2021 levy. The committee will review the levy, which has been reduced to 5 percent by removing the City Council’s contribution to the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and changing the amount of revenue for street projects.
