Nanci Jo Seidel, age 65, passed away on Saturday, December 29, at her home in Crookston. A prayer service will be held, Friday, January 4 at 2:00 PM at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston. Burial will be in the Lima Cemetery in Fertile.
Nanci Jo Hansen was born on July 16, 1953 in Crookston to Clifford and Mavis (Sembrik) Hansen. The couple parted and moved their separate ways. Nanci moved with her mother to Erskine, MN where she attended school and graduated in 1972. Nanci was raised most of her life by her mother and Nanci’s step-father Donald Barrow. After high school, Nanci worked for several restaurants in the area, including, Kifes Café in Thief River Falls; The Irishman’s Shanty in Crookston; managed the Fisher Café in Fisher; the C-Store in Fisher; Anderson Fabrics in Crookston; and most recently at Hugo’s Market in Crookston. While living and working in Thief River Falls, Nanci met Patrick Seidel and the couple eventually wed on October 13, 1978 in Warren, MN. Nanci was a member of the Fisher Lutheran Church.
Nanci will be remembered for her wonderful cooking (she was a great cook), being a loving wife, and a great mother.
Nanci is survived by her husband of 40 years, Patrick, Crookston, MN; son, David Seidel, Oak Grove, MN; step-father, Donald Barrow, Erskine, MN; grandchildren, Tyler, Derrick, and Marissa Seidel; sister, Linda Molstad, Schofield, WI; brother, Dale (Laurene) Barrow, Grand Forks, ND; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mavis Barrow; one infant daughter; sisters, Paulette LaCoursiere, and Bonnie Gebauer.
