ALTRU EARNS TWO CHIME DIGITAL HEALTH MOST WIRED AWARDS

Altru has earned the 2021 CHIME (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives) Digital Health Certified Level 9, Performance Excellence Award for Altru’s Acute setting and the Level 8, Quality Award for Altru’s Ambulatory setting.

Having easy, quick, and reliable access to digital health information is a priority for Altru Health System because it leads to better patient outcomes. Having a patient’s medical history, including any test results, helps providers make the correct diagnosis and execute an appropriate healthcare plan.

“Ensuring patients and their providers have immediate digital access to medical information allows for the best possible care to be provided,” emphasizes Mark Waind, Altru’s chief information officer. “This award is a testament to the talented team of clinical and IT professionals who have configured, tested, trialed, and implemented new functionality that has transformed the patient care experience.”

Of the seven different areas Altru was rated on for its use of digital health in Acute (hospital) care, they received a Level 10 in analytics/data management, interoperability/population health and patient engagement. Receiving the overall rating of a Level 9 indicates Altru is a leader in healthcare technology and helps push the industry forward. It often leverages healthcare technology in innovative ways and encourages deep adoption across the entire organization.

For Ambulatory (out-patient) care, Altru received a Level 10 rating for analytics/data management and patient engagement. These individualized reports from CHIME help organizations identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.

“Digital transformation in healthcare has accelerated to an unprecedented level since 2020, and the next few years will bring a wave of innovation that empowers healthcare consumers and will astound the industry,” asserts CHIME president and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “The Digital Health Most Wired program recognizes the outstanding digital leaders who have paved the way for this imminent revolution in healthcare. Their trailblazing commitment to rapid transformation has set an example for the entire industry in how to pursue a leadership vision with determination, brilliant planning and courage to overcome all challenges.”

For the past nine years, Altru has been on the CHIME Most Wired Awards list, leading to improved coordinated care for patients when providers can easily access and share a patient’s health information.

A total of 36,674 organizations were represented in the 2021 Digital Health Most Wired program, which included four separate surveys: acute, ambulatory, long-term care and international acute.

MOST Wired Overview

The mission of the CHIME “Digital Health Most Wired” program is to elevate the health and care of communities around the world by encouraging the optimal use of information technology. The program does this by conducting an annual survey to identify, recognize, and certify the adoption, implementation, and use of information technology by healthcare provider organizations. The results are intended to improve patient safety and outcomes by driving change in the healthcare IT industry.
