Altru has earned the 2021 CHIME (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives) Digital Health Certified Level 9, Performance Excellence Award for Altru’s Acute setting and the Level 8, Quality Award for Altru’s Ambulatory setting.
Having easy, quick, and reliable access to digital health information is a priority for Altru Health System because it leads to better patient outcomes. Having a patient’s medical history, including any test results, helps providers make the correct diagnosis and execute an appropriate healthcare plan.

Of the seven different areas Altru was rated on for its use of digital health in Acute (hospital) care, they received a Level 10 in analytics/data management, interoperability/population health and patient engagement. Receiving the overall rating of a Level 9 indicates Altru is a leader in healthcare technology and helps push the industry forward. It often leverages healthcare technology in innovative ways and encourages deep adoption across the entire organization.
For Ambulatory (out-patient) care, Altru received a Level 10 rating for analytics/data management and patient engagement. These individualized reports from CHIME help organizations identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.

For the past nine years, Altru has been on the CHIME Most Wired Awards list, leading to improved coordinated care for patients when providers can easily access and share a patient’s health information.
A total of 36,674 organizations were represented in the 2021 Digital Health Most Wired program, which included four separate surveys: acute, ambulatory, long-term care and international acute.

The mission of the CHIME “Digital Health Most Wired” program is to elevate the health and care of communities around the world by encouraging the optimal use of information technology. The program does this by conducting an annual survey to identify, recognize, and certify the adoption, implementation, and use of information technology by healthcare provider organizations. The results are intended to improve patient safety and outcomes by driving change in the healthcare IT industry.
