The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Golden Eagles Volleyball team played a couple of competitive sets but ran out of gas and lost the third set 25-9 as the University of Sioux Falls picked up the three-set victory, 25-19, 25-22, 25-9, this afternoon in Sioux Falls.
It was a tough year for the Golden Eagles losing their last 20 matches and finishing at 1-24 on the year and 0-20 in the Northern Sun Conference.
With the win, the Cougars of the University of Sioux Falls raised their record to 17-11 on the year and 12-8 in the conference, but things didn’t fall for them as the teams ahead also won their matches today, so the University of Sioux Falls and finished ninth and only the top eight advances to the Northern Sun Conference Championships that run Thursday-Sunday at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls. UMC will lose Bailey Mulcahy (Fertile) and Lauren Wallace (Bloomington) who will be graduating in the spring.
