Kelly T. Scholl -Obit

Kelly Troy Scholl, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Halstad, MN, on January 31, 2019 at the age of 50.  He is survived by his parents Harley and Bonnie (Lindstrom) Scholl of Grandin, ND, sister Nicole Scholl and Annette Acuff of New York, significant other Marsha Spokely, of Halstad, as well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Ray and Arlene Scholl, Grandparents Harold and Agnes Lindstrom, Uncle Calvin Scholl and Cousin Randy Scholl.

Kelly was born August 31, 1968, in Fargo, ND.  He attended school in Hendrum and Halstad, MN, graduating from Norman County West High School where he was also part of the 1985 NCW State Championship football team. He went on to attend school at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND, graduating with an Associate’s Degree.

Kelly had a positive outlook to his life and always thought that he would live to be 100.  In his younger years he won Grand Champion Gilt in 1982 at the Minnesota State Fair and in 1983 he won Grand Champion Barrow.  Accomplishments he and his family were both proud of!  For several years he was self-employed as The Glassman installing and repairing windshields.  He returned to the family farm to work, where he was presently employed.  Besides working on the family farm, Kelly could be found driving semi-truck hauling grain and soybeans, making pets out of the livestock and taking care of his barn cats (Cuddles and Summer being two of his most favorite).  In his free time he loved to hunt, fish, make pickles and his most recent adventure was the large garden he and Marsha attended to this past summer along with making weekend trips to the local farmers market to sell their produce.  During his last few years he made frequent trips to Rochester in attempts to keep up with his health – it was on these trips that he and Marsha got to experience a wide range of activities that they both enjoyed.
