The Crookston County Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3:30 a.m. on 280th Avenue this morning, 10 miles east of Crookston on Highway 2.
The structure was an abandoned farm home that sat vacant for years, with there being no reason for it to catch fire, as there was no power sent to the building, and no lightning struck the building either.
The structure was close to a cornfield that had almost dried out but did not catch fire. This is an active investigation, and more news will be reported when it is revealed.
