CROOKSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY INVITES JAMES THOMASSON FOR AUTHOR TALK ON WEDNESDAY

The Crookston Public Library invites the public to an author talk featuring James Thomasson, author of “Sounds from the Last Outpost: Outhouse Limericks and Country Rhythms,” a book of poems and ink art about outhouses co-produced with artist Tom Tepper.

This author talk will include a discussion of the friendship between James Thomasson, the first Protestant theologian at Georgetown University, and Tom Tepper, who served as an architect of D.C. National landmarks. One is a poet; one likes to draw. Their book started with a poem by James about Tom’s outhouse on his land in rural Rappahannock County, Virginia, for which Tom drew a cartoon. Their labor of love began over 30 years ago, resulting in a book of clever poems and ink artwork called “Sounds from the Last Outpost: Outhouse Limericks and Country Rhythms.” Books will be available for signing and purchase.

The author talk will be held on Wednesday, October 5, at 2 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library, 110 N. Ash St.
