TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH IN CROOKSTON TO HOST SUNDAY FUNDAY AT TRINITY POINT

Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston invites everyone to Sunday Funday on Sunday, August 13, at Trinity Point on Maple Lake for worship, lunch, games, swimming, and fun.

It will be a day of fun and activities for individuals and families. “It is a day for the community to gather at Trinity Point, and not just for members of Trinity,” said Trinity Lutheran Church’s Annette Thompson. “Typically, we have had it as a senior citizen picnic, but we wanted to include all ages in on this.”

The day will start with worship on Trinity Point Beach on Maple Lake at 11:00 a.m. Lunch, games, bingo, swimming, and pontoon rides will follow from Noon to 3:00 p.m. “Trinity Point is a hidden secret out there,” said Thompson. “It is a beautiful beach, and it is open to the public. Hopefully, we can get some families out there to experience what it is like for the rest of us and spend some time at the beach.”

Trinity Point is home to many events throughout the year. “They have done baptisms, weddings, funerals, reunions, church activities, and more,” said Thompson. “Trinity has a great youth program, and Leah Winjum does a great job, so there are a lot of opportunities at Trinity and Trinity Point.”

The idea for Sunday Funday came to get people and families involved in their church again. “After COVID, things have slowed down for all of the local churches, and I think part of this is getting people excited again about being involved with their churches,” said Thompson. “We want to get families back, and that is really what is behind this idea.”

Trinity Point is at 15577 North Trinity Point Road, Mentor, MN 56736.
