STEPHEN-ARGYLE STORM BOYS BASKETBALL FALLS TO GRAFTON

The Stephen-Argyle Storm Boys Basketball team fell to the Grafton Spoilers in a Wednesday afternoon contest from Grafton High School, 83-47.

FIRST QUARTER-
In the first quarter, Caden Pagnac knocked down Stephen-Argyle’s first basket to make it 3-2, with Grafton leading early. Grafton expanded their lead to 10-2 before Shay Setterholm drove to the basket and got a lay-in. The Spoilers ended the quarter on a 13-2 run as Dylan Widner hit a lay-up for the Storm for their only basket during that stretch. Grafton led after one, 23-6.

SECOND QUARTER –
In the second, Raydon Woinarowicz got a basket plus the foul, but he couldn’t connect on the free throw. After that, Widner hit another jump shot for the Storm to make it 23-10. Pagnac got a putback underneath for the Storm, but Grafton’s lead was at 27-12. Woinarowicz made another basket from short range later in the quarter. Anders Thompson used a strong move to the basket, and he was able to finish to make it 33-16 with Grafton still leading. Grafton took a halftime lead of 40-21.

THIRD QUARTER –
In the third quarter, Jake Carlson scored his first basket of the contest with a nice baby hook shot in the lane. Anders Thompson found his rhythm from three-point range as he hit a pair of threes, but the Storm still trailed. Woinarowicz had another aggressive drive to the basket to get another close shot to fall. Blaine Smith hit a three as the horn sounded from way downtown to make it 64-39 with Grafton in control.

FOURTH QUARTER –
In the fourth quarter, Grafton kept utilizing the three as the Spoilers made 13 threes in the ballgame. They also had five different players score in double figures. Carlson would use another nice post move for the storm to make it 76-44. Grafton would hold Stephen-Argyle to just eight points in the quarter on their way to an 83-47 victory.

Stephen-Argyle drops to 5-18 on the year and will take on Climax-Fisher tomorrow night. Grafton improves to 16-3 and will take on Carrington on Friday.
