PIRATE BOYS GOLF FINISHES 17TH AT TALENTED PEQUOT LAKES INVITE

The Crookston Pirate Boys golf team finished 17th out of 21 teams in the talent-filled 21-team Pequot Lakes Early Bird Invitational at the Pines Golf Course at Grand View Lodge in Nisswa. Crookston shot a 366, while Rosemount shot an impressive 302, which was nine strokes better than Hill Murray. The top Section 8AA team was Roseau with a 327. 

GARRETT FISCHER- The sophomore led the Pirates for the second straight meet with an 86. Garrett recorded an eagle with a three on the par five 460-yard sixth hole. He also recorded eight pars, three bogeys, five double bogeys, and one triple bogey.

BRANNON TANGQUIST- The senior shot an 87, one stroke behind Fischer for the team lead. He turned in a birdie on the par five 460-yard sixth hole. He also had six pars, seven bogies, three double bogies, and one triple bogey.

EVAN SHOCKMAN- The sophomore turned in the second Pirate Eagle of the day when he recorded a three on the par five 515-yard 10th hole. Evan also had three pars, six bogies, five double bogies, two triple bogies, and one quad.

TATE HAMRE- The sophomore was competing in his first round of the season and finished with a 97. He birdied the par four 320-yard fifth hole. He had 11 bogies, three double bogies, and three triple bogies.

ASHTON SHOCKMAN- The senior shot a solid round, but had a few holes that hurt him as he shot a 99. Ashton had five pars, six bogies, three double bogies, two triple bogies, one quad, and also shot a nine on a par four.

DAVID DAUKSAVAGE- The sophomore is relatively new to golf and to play at the Pines is challenging for veteran golfers. David had some solid holes, but also had a few holes that hurt him. He turned in two pars on the 12th and 14th holes. He also shot a pair of 10’s and one nine that caused his score to blow up a bit.
