Earlier today, the Ampride Board met with the Parnow Family and gave them a $2,500 donation for Get Kids Outdoors. Cobank matched the donation and also gave $2,500.
Get Kids Outdoors is a nonprofit that will host several events in the community throughout the year, including a fishing event in July. The events are meant to develop outdoor recreational activities for the youth that will inspire them and give them the tools to continue those activities throughout their lifetime. “Every year Ampride tries to give a donation to a group or something like that, so this year we decided to give it towards Get Kids Outdoors in memory of Adam Parnow,” said Crookston Fuel Company/Ampride Board member Fred Wentzel. “Cobank had offered to match up to a certain amount, and at the board at Ampride, we decided that we would do $2,500, and Cobank matched that for a total of $5,000. We all knew Adam. He was a great guy and this is a great thing to get started. He would’ve liked it, and that’s how we picked it.
Get Kids Outdoors will host its 1st Annual Adam’s Memorial Scramble & Shootout on Saturday, June 22. The event will be open to the public from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. There will be a four-person team scramble, with each hole being a par 3. Each hole will have a $5,000 Hole-in-One Contest, and at the end of the tournament, participants will surround hole number 9, where they will get one shot at $50,000. Other activities at the Adam’s Memorial Scramble & Shootout include-
- 50/50 Raffle
- Chip in to Pond

Fred Parnow, father of the late Adam Parnow, would like to thank all involved in making this event possible. “I want to give a special thank you to all of the people who have volunteered on the committee. Our son Matt has done a phenomenal job with some other folks; Amy Hovey, Troy Magsam, Erik Helgeson, and Anna Peterson have been helping us so much. We couldn’t do these activities without the volunteers; they’ve just been phenomenal,” said Parnow. “The community as a whole has been very supportive of our mission and what we are trying to accomplish, and we just want to thank everyone involved. Our sponsors are just phenomenal. Everything has just been overwhelming, and it’s just amazing our community helps us out.”
