CITY OF CROOKSTON RELEASES A EMAIL/TEXT MESSAGE NOTIFICATION SERVICE

The City of Crookston has released an email and text messaging notification service for all important City updates. Residents can go to the City of Crookston website to sign up.

“When you go to the City of Crookston website, which again is www.crookston.mn.us, the first thing you’ll see is a pop-up encouraging you to subscribe to the City of Crookston. It’ll be a pop-up saying sign up to receive notifications for the latest community news and updates from the City of Crookston.” Says Marketing Coordinator Keenan Devier, “If you click on there, it will redirect you to the Notify Me page on the City of Crookston website, where you can create an account and subscribe to different categories to receive emails or text messages on different topics you are interested in staying up to date on.”

Residents can get updates on many things, such as

  • All meetings happening in City Hall
  • Construction
  • Community Updates
  • Job Postings
  • Park and Recreation Updates

Residents may customize the messages they receive by individually selecting which areas they want to be notified of when signing up on the City’s website.

Devier mentions how important it is to market things through many different avenues. “You’re not going to reach everybody on one platform. You’re not going to reach everybody on Facebook. You’re not going to reach everybody on the radio. You won’t reach everybody in any one particular category. So when I found out we had this service available to us through our website, it was a no-brainer to get it all set up for us to send out direct communication with our residents. I thought it would be a fantastic way for residents to stay up to date on what’s going on and hear directly from us.”
