RiverView Health Receives Minnesota Hospital Association’s Quality, Safety Improvement Award

The Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) recently recognized RiverView Health for excellence in innovation, advocacy, and leadership. RiverView team members attended its Annual Meeting, where they received the Quality and Safety Improvement Award, which recognizes Minnesota hospitals or health systems that have taken extraordinary and innovative steps to prioritize patient safety.

Specifically, RiverView was recognized for efforts related to infection prevention and control, which resulted in several initiatives aimed at hand hygiene, MHA Healthcare-associated infection road map adherence, patient and family education, and a notable reduction of catheter utilization.

“There is amazing work being done every day to provide the highest quality care to our patients,” said Dr. Rahul Koranne, president and CEO of MHA. “It is not only incredibly important to honor the teams and individuals doing this work, but also valuable to convene these frontline leaders to share and learn from each other.”
