Stephen-Argyle’s Caden Pagnac records first half double-double, as Storm beats Climax-Fisher Boys Basketball

The Stephen-Argyle Storm boys basketball team dominated the paint and won their 10th straight game over the Climax-Fisher Knights 91-40 Monday afternoon in Stephen. The Storm was led by Caden Pagnac, who scored 14 first half points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the contest.

FIRST HALF –
The Storm came out firing, as Raydon Woinarawicz knocked down the opening layup for Stephen-Argyle. The Knights were able to hang around, as Branson Solheim had a quick answer, The Storm would then get a boost from Caden Pagnac, who scored the next three with an and-one chance. Pagnac and the big men started to dominte the paint, picking up second chance points and drawing fouls from Climax-Fisher. The Knights were losing momentum before a Jace Motl three kept Climax-Fisher down 27-14. The Storm transition game started working shortly after, as they picked up eight steals that led to points. Stephen-Argyle finished the half on a 21-5 run. Pagnac picked up a double-double in the first half alone, as the Storm drew eight fouls in the paint.

SECOND HALF –
Climax-Fisher faced a huge deficit out of the locker room, and started the half right with a Gabe Wentzel bucket. The Knights were able to pick up a few steals as well, but they were unable to capitalize with points. On the other hand, Stephen-Argyle picked back up where they left off with more paint points from Woinarawicz, Pagnac, and Carlson. In addition, the size of Stephen-Argyle forced the Knights into more foul trouble. The Knights tried to combat the size of the Storm with outside shooting. Wentzel hit a three from the point followed by a couple makes from Sawyer Erickson in an attempt to regain some momentum around the 9 minute mark. Stephen-Argyle subbed in the reserves moments later, and saw a big performance from Anders Thompson. Thompson tacked on 13 points, including four triples off the bench. The Storm tried some razzle-dazzle on an alley oop attempt from Blaine Smith to Jake Carlson, but the dunk was missed. The Climax-Fisher reserves came in over the next several minutes, and they saw contributions from Alex Reitmier and Dustin Carl in the paint. The Storm would outscore the Knights 43-22 in the half, and cruise to a 91-40 win.

Stephen-Argyle improves to 15-11 and has now won their 10th straight game. Climax-Fisher is now 3-20 on the season.
JV: Stephen-Argyle won 65-34
