Mary Delores Tuseth – OBIT

Mary Delores Tuseth, 94, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025.  Mary was born on February 3rd,1931 in Crookston, Minnesota to Frank and Angeline (Willette) Stainbrook.  She was the sixth of thirteen children.

Mary was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Crookston in 1950.  As Mary planned for her future, she would walk to St. Vincent’s Hospital after school to work as a nurse’s aide and candy striper, and she the thought about joining the convent.  Ultimately when going south to help her sister, Mary met the love of her life Robert “Bob” Tuseth and they were wed on October 18th, 1952, in Fort Rucker, Alabama under Arms.  After Bob was discharged from the Army, they moved back to Crookston in 1954 and together they established their beautiful family of four children.  Beyond her duties as a mother and community volunteer, Mary also worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Riverview Nursing Home from 1977 to 1985.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1955 as well as a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Saint Anne’s Sodality, Saint Rose of Lima Circle Catholic Daughters and the Golden Link Senior Center.  As a devoted member of the Cathedral community, Mary was always ready to be a friend, share a smile and offer endless encouragement.

Mary, as part of a big family, had very special bonds between all her brothers and sisters, their relationships were all unique and tightly woven, fed by family endearment and big grins.

The Tuseth’s home had a door that was always open.  So many family members and friends would find comfort and kindness inside.  It was Mary’s grace, tolerance and goodness that filled hearts with faith and promise.  Her laughter echoes still.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, two sisters, her husband of 52 years, Robert “Bob” Tuseth, son Daniel “Dan” Tuseth and grandson William Tuseth

Mourning Mary’s passing are her children; James “Jim” (LeAnne) Tuseth, Nancy Tuseth, Mark (Diane) Tuseth, and daughter in law, Kathy Tuseth. Her grandchildren; Grant and Issac Tuseth, Maurico and Alex Tuseth, Nicholas Wilson and Benjamin Tuseth, Shelly & Natalie Tuseth and great-grandson Zen Rize Tuseth.  Sister, Cookie (Glenn) French, Brother, Denny Stainbrook and Sister-in-law, Virginia Stainbrook and numerous nieces and nephews.
