Crookston City Council to meet Tuesday, January 20

The Crookston City Council will meet on Tuesday, January 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Crookston City Hall Council Chambers.

The consent agenda includes approval of the January 5 meeting minutes, bills, and disbursements for $896,970.51, 2026 gas fitters and cement mason licenses. The council will also be asked to approve the Confidence Learning Center application for a lawful gambling premise permit at the Crookston Eagles, accepting a $20.00 donation from Patricia Coauette in memory of Jackie Frentz for the Parks and Rec Department.
The council will also be asked to call for a a public hearing regarding a request for a one-year extension of the Minnesota Investment Fund (MIF) compliance date for NorthStar Lime, LLC, approval of the third payment to Gustafson & Goudge, INC for the 2025 hangar construction for the Crookston Municipal Airport, establishing procedures relating to compliance with reimbursement bond regulations under the Internal Revenue Code, approval of task order No. 20 with Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC for 2026 general engineering services, and approval of task order No. 21 with Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC (AE2S) for 2026 funding support services.
The council will also be asked to approve the 2026 Council committees, the 2026 City Boards and committee appointments, and approval of a Cannabis Lower-Potency Hemp Edible Retailer License for Two Captains Inc.

The regular agenda includes a resolution regarding DEED Redevelopment Grant Program Application Authorization for the Tri Valley Building, a resolution regarding the ABDO position Classification and Compensation Study Report Phase 1 Non-Union Positions, and a esolution to approve Taylor Wyum as the New Community Development Director.

The Crookston Ways and Means Committee will meet after the council meeting to discuss boards and commissions.
