RiverView Health Foundation brings in over $300,000 on Giving Hearts Day

The community once again demonstrated its remarkable generosity during Giving Hearts Day in support of RiverView Health.

Thanks to 203 donors who gave through the RiverView Foundation, the February 12 event raised more than $300,000 to enhance patient care and services at RiverView.

“I am grateful and humbled by the hundreds of donations given not only on Giving Hearts Day, but throughout the year, that benefit patients, the services we offer, and the importance of keeping quality healthcare close to home,’’ shared Foundation Director Randy Schoenborn. “Thank you for your level of confidence, support, and trust. It is important for you to know that these dollars will enhance patient care and can heal and save lives.’’

Undesignated funds will support critical initiatives, including replacement of the Immunoassay (IA) Chemistry analyzer and Blood Culture Incubator, as well as expanded rural healthcare services throughout the region. IA testing plays a vital role in diagnosing serious conditions and is often used to confirm or rule out a heart attack in as little as one hour.

Since joining Giving Hearts Day at its inception in 2008, the Foundation has raised more than $3.2 million through the annual online fundraiser. This year, more than 650 charities participated, generating a preliminary total of approximately $30.4 million from nearly 71,000 individual donations. To date, Giving Hearts Day has raised more than $256 million for nonprofits across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
