Crookston Figure Skating Show is March 7 and 8 at the CSC

The Crookston Figure Skating Club (CFSC), in cooperation with the Crookston Park and Rec Department, will hold its annual Skating Show this weekend. “We have our Saturday show at 6 p.m., and then our Sunday show is at 2 p.m. Admission for adults is $10, and then seniors over 65 and students are $5. You can pay at the door,” said Crookston Figure Skating Club Director Katie Morgan.  “We do have pre-sale tickets on Thursday and Friday if anybody wants to stop by the arena and get pre-sale tickets. Our theme this year is Camp CFSC, so Camp Crookston Figure Skating Club. It will be all camping-themed.”

Morgan said it has been a good season for the skaters, and they will have a range from little ones to high schoolers. “Overall, our season this year has gone really well. We have three synchro teams. We have our littlest ones who are in our basic one, two, and three groups. So they are probably anywhere from five to eight years old. We also have a middle-aged group is more of our elementary. And then we have our senior high or high school kids,” said Morgan. “They get the opportunity to perform at hockey games. So they’ve done that a few times this winter. And then we also have all of our classes from two-year-olds on the ice with our mom’s pops and tots class. And we have our basics, which is our kind of our beginning program. And then our free skate and ice dancing, which is for our older skaters.”

Morgan said you can expect a lot of the favorites. “We also, again this year, a crowd favorite, we have the boy-girl number back. So we have a few hockey boys joining us in the program. We’ll have every single one of our basic routines. We’ll have a few special numbers with solos and features, which will be really fun for those girls,” said Morgan. “A lot of those girls are competing and testing with the United States Figure Skating Association. So they’ve been very successful over this last season at area competitions in Grafton, Thief River Falls, and in Moorhead. It’ll be fun for them to showcase what they’ve been working on.”

The Crookston Figure Skating Show will be Saturday, March 7, at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 p.m. The doors open one hour before the show. Admission is $10 for adults, Seniors over 65, and students are $5.
