The Crookston High School Speech team competed in the Section 8A Speech tournament in Fosston on Tuesday, and Zac Plante finished second and will advance to the state competition.
Plante finished in second place in Creative Expression and will compete at the State Class A Competition on Saturday, April 25, at Park Center High School.
Also competing in the section competition were Nashelle Tellez, Hamsini Chanda, and Lily Olmstead. The team is coached by Brandon Lee and Kate Mulvey.
