The Crookston Pirate Boys Tennis team beat Benson 5-2 and Osakis 7-0 in a triangular in Fergus Falls on Tuesday.
CROOKSTON VS BENSON
The Pirates swept the doubles matches and won third and fourth singles to beat Benson 5-2. In singles, Gunnar Groven dominated his third singles match with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 victory. At fourth singles, Ean Deleon continued his solid play as he won the first set 6-4. After losing the second set 6-2, he bounced back to win a thriller in the third set tie-breaker 11-9.
Crookston’s Sam Widseth and Hudson Rick also won a three-set battle. They won the first set 6-1, but lost the second set 6-4. In the third set, Widseth and Rick won 10-7 for the victory. At second doubles, Colton Osborn and Jacob Halvorson cruised to a straight set victory 6-1, 6-2. The third doubles combo won their match 6-2, 6-3 and the Pirates won the match 5-2.

CROOKSTON VS OSAKIS
The Pirates dominated in a 7-0 victory over the Osakis Silverstreaks. At first singles, Reggie Winjum cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory. Grant Funk was dominant at second singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. At third singles, Gunnar Groven won a good battle 6-2, 6-4. To complete singles sweep, Ean Deleon won a hard-fought battle 6-4, 7-6.
In doubles, Sam Widseth and Hudson Rick coasted to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at first doubles. At second doubles, Colton Osborn and Jacob Halverson were dominant in a 6-1, 6-3 victory. At thid doubles, the Pirates cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory to finish the sweep.
Crookston improves to 2-1 on the year and will travel to Thief River Falls on Thursday for a duel.
