While change can feel a little scary at first, it can also open the door to something great. Just ask Erika Goodrie. After making the leap from working with animals to helping people, she’s found her stride—so much so that she was recently named RiverView Health’s January Employee of the Month.
Erika has been a Patient Access representative in RiverView’s Rehab Services Department for nearly two years, supporting her team and brightening patients’ days.
“I had spent the previous 10 years working in the animal care field and was pretty anxious about having a career change,’’ she shared, ‘’but I often think about how happy I am that I took the leap.’’
Originally from the Eagan/Rosemount, MN, area, Erika now calls Crookston home, where she lives with her husband, their three cats and two dogs.
Outside of work, Erika enjoys drawing—both in her sketchbook and digitally—video games, and reading. She also loves fantasy movies like Lord of the Rings, horror movies, and anime.
Of receiving the Employee of the Month award, she said: “I feel so honored and blessed to be chosen. I am so fortunate to have found a job I was able to adjust to so quickly, and to be a part of a fun and supportive team.’’
