The Crookston Middle School field trip participants returned to Crookston bright and early Friday morning after spending four days exploring historical sites in Washington, D.C.
According to English teacher and trip coordinator Susan Wagner, the third and fourth days of the trip included visits to locations including the US Capitol building, the Library of Congress, the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, Old Town Alexandria, Mount Vernon, the National Army Museum, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, and the National Archives. The students and chaperones continued to witness these historic sites and learn more about the history of the United States over the previous 250 years.
Following the trip, Wagner thanked all the students, parents, and other chaperones, including Sue Erickson, Dan Halland, and Amy Luckow, for their participation in a safe and fun trip and is hopeful that they all enjoyed themselves and learned a lot about real people and real stories.
World Classrooms assisted Wagner in planning the trip, and she thanked them for doing an awesome job putting it together and for assigning us awesome CEOs: Brayden, Dawson, and Evan. Additional thanks were given to the tour guides, Levi & John, who brought history to life.
