Options Outdoors, in coordination with the City of East Grand Forks and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, will host an accessible archery hunt for people with disabilities from October 8-10 within the Greenway located in the city limits of East Grand Forks.
Four spots in the hunt are available for disabled people or those experiencing the frailties of aging who live in East Grand Forks, with two spots prioritized toward veterans with disabilities. Applications for the hunt must be postmarked or dropped off at Options, located at 318 3rd Street NW in East Grand Forks, by 5:00 p.m. on September 9. If more eligible people apply than there are spots available, participants will be chosen through a selection process or drawing, with those not chosen placed on an alternate list in case of cancellations.
Prior to the hunt, applicants must possess a valid 2026 Minnesota Archery Deer License, attend a mandatory orientation, and demonstrate proficiency in shooting in order to participate.
Participants are provided a blind site with accommodations, including an assistant, during the hunt. Hunting hours each day will be from 12:00 p.m. to the end of legal hunting time. Volunteers will be on hand to assist if necessary.
