The University of Minnesota Crookston is reminding alumni and friends of their Alumni Game and Banquet this Saturday, September 26. The game will commence at 1 p.m., with the banquet at 6 p.m., at the Crookston Inn and Convention Center.
The Golden Eagles banquet will feature a meal from the Crookston Inn and speeches from former Golden Eagle and motivational speaker Parker Hanson, who will be awarded with the Abbey (Promise) Award from the University next month. In addition, a recorded video from former Golden Eagle and current Chicago Cubs farmhand Mike Hallquist. Lastly, former Minnesota Crookston Head Coach Chris Vito will be giving a speech to honor former assistant coach and student-athlete Mitch Allore, who passed away tragically earlier this year.
Minnesota Crookston will also honor all of their former players who have gone on to play professional baseball. A list that currently stands at 14 including four who have played affiliated ball, Paul Krebs with the Kansas City Royals organization, Zach Seipel with the Atlanta Braves organization, Jake Dykhoff with the Baltimore Orioles organization, and Hallquist with the Chicago Cubs organization.
