Sacred Heart Eagle Volleyball senior setter, Finley Horken, reached the 3,000th career assist milestone on Saturday at the Class A Showcase Midwest Volleyball Warehouse Class A Showcase volleyball tournament in Burnsville.
Horken started her varsity career as an eighth grader and already has 414 assists this season and 3,020 for her career, which is a school record. Horken isn’t only a setter, as she has 877 career digs and already has 35 kills this season, which is impressive considering she isn’t a hitter in any rotation for the Eagles this year. She is the ultimate all-around player.
Eagle Volleyball Coach Emily Vonasek said Horken is a great player and a great all-around person too, “Hard worker, she has been touching a volleyball daily since she was very young. Her parents say they can hear that beat of the ball being set off the wall, and that’s how they know Finley’s home. She had a dream to play college volleyball, and she worked for it and earned it. Not only that, but she’s an outstanding teammate; she leads by example through her Faith, hard work, positivity, and dedication.”
