Gerald Bregier – Obit

Gerald Bregier of Erskine, MN formerly of Plummer, MN passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bob Schreiner officiating and Deacon John Bruggeman. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Gerald Joseph Bregier was born March 1, 1941 at Red Lake Falls, MN son of the late George and Rose (Reopelle) Bregier. He was raised in Red Lake Falls until 1943 when they moved to a farm in Gervais Township. He attended school in Plummer, MN. He worked in North Dakota on a farm.

Gerald entered the US Army on January 24, 1961 and served his country until his honorable discharge on January 23, 1963. He was stationed in Fort Hood Texas and also in Frankford Germany. He returned to Red Lake Fall where he worked at various Jobs including Detroiter Mobile Home for 20 years.

On July 1, 1967 he was united in marriage to Diane Morisette at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN. To this union two sons were born David and James. They made their home in Red Lake Falls. In 1978 he purchased a farm near Plummer, MN in Emardville Township. Gerald raised vegetables and fruit which he would sell off the farm or on the streets selling out of his truck. Due to ill health he moved to Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine July 25, 2014.

He enjoyed hunting, picking blueberries in the forest, attending Rollag Threshing every year, metal detecting, puzzles, visiting and spending time at casinos.

Gerald is survived by his sons David Bregier of Detroit Lakes, MN and James Bregier of Crookston, MN; grandchildren Ashley of Crookston, MN, Josh of Crookston, MN, Jordan of Red Wing, MN, Courtney of Red Wing, MN, Austin of Red Wing, MN and McKenna of Detroit Lakes, MN; great-grandchildren Morgan, Tristan and Alyssa all of Crookston, MN; siblings Dolores Harrison of Minneapolis, MN, Jane (David) Johnson of Princeton, MN, Vern (Shirley) Bregier of Red Lake Falls, MN, Rose (Fiancé Jim) Senn of Metamora, IL, George Bregier of Sioux Falls, MN and Linda (Paul) Richter of Aurora, SD along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Mike Senn, Ronnie Harrison andnephew Shawn Senn.
