Michael Lee Amon -OBIT

Michael Lee Amon began his life eternally on October 9th, 2026. He will forever be 59!

He was a beloved husband, father, son, uncle, cousin, director, coach, and friend. All who had the honor to know him were blessed by his kind spirit, loving heart, and unending generosity.

Mike is survived by wife Lynn Marie, son Noah Mieke, daughter Lilah Irene, parents Gabriel and Jeanine, brother Tony (Mary), sister Julie (Duane), and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was born in Crookston, MN and graduated from high school there. He completed his college years at Winona State University, where he decided to become a social worker. It was there that he met Lynn, later to be his wife. He proudly graduated with his bachelor’s degree and got hired at Alternatives for People with Autism as a Living Skills Director. Thirty-four years later, Mike climbed the ranks to become APA’s Executive Director and was a committed advocate to the disability community.

Mike made his community stronger through endless contributions. He was a Special Olympics coach, softball coach, PAI board member, and a WBL Lion’s member. Mike also spent his time at St Pius X, where he was an Usher and a Knights of Columbus member for many years. Mike was devoted in his faith, starting and ending his day with prayer, and always working to strengthen his relationship with God.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman from an early age, a golfer, and a woodworker. He went on fishing and hunting trips with his friends and family. Mike used his talents as a woodworker to make thoughtful gifts to others around him.

Mike was very proud of his Lebanese heritage, often making cultural dishes to share with family and always learning more about his family history.

As a father and husband, Mike was full of unbounding love and support. He brought joy and life everywhere he went, always getting people to smile and laugh. As a friend and a brother, there was no difference. Mike always strived to do good and be good, working to connect with and uplift everyone in his path.

Mike had a heart of gold and will forever be missed by all who were touched by his light.
