Altru receives top veteran employer recognition

Altru has been recognized as a Top Veteran Employer by U.S. Veterans Magazine for its commitment to recruiting, supporting and empowering veterans and military spouses in the workplace.

“Being named a Top Veteran Employer is a meaningful honor because it reflects who we are as an organization. Veterans bring exceptional leadership, resilience, and a commitment to serving others. These qualities strengthen our teams and the care we provide,” shared Derek Goebel, Altru CFO. Goebel is a veteran of the North Dakota Army National Guard, serving 13 years, including two mobilizations.

Goebel continued, “At Altru, we’re proud to support those who have served our country by creating an environment where they can build fulfilling, long-term careers and continue making a difference in our communities.”

Each year, the U.S. Veterans Magazine’s Top Veteran Employers recognition list spotlights the employers, educational institutions, and government agencies that go above and beyond in their commitment to recruiting, retaining, and advancing veteran talent.

According to the “Top Veteran Employers 2026” article in the July 2026 issue, “The honorees have demonstrated a sustained focus on values, opportunity and workplace culture as reflected in our independent research, submitted materials and information available during the evaluation period.”

U.S. Veterans Magazine President & Publisher Mona Lisa Faris emphasizes, “When companies recognize and invest in overlooked talent pools, they gain a powerful competitive edge while making a meaningful difference.”
