Arrest/Fire Calls – Monday, February 11, 2019

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center announced the arrests of the following individuals:

Dennis Richard Meade, 33, for a felony parole violation. Released to another agency.

Luis Anthony Padilla, 32, for a felony parole violation. Released to another agency. 

Mik Richard Larson, 32 of Mahnomen, for felony 5th-degree drug possession, Schedule 1, 2, 3, 4 or not a small amount of marijuana.

Mark Allen Bigger, 61 of Fertile, for felony 3rd-degree burglary.

 

Fire Calls

On Saturday at about 3:00 p.m., the Crookston Fire Department responded to a call for assistance to elevator one at the Crookston Sports Center. Upon arrival, they found the elevator clear and suspect the alarm was triggered accidentally.

At 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon they responded to an “oven scare” on the 500-block of Victoria Street. They investigated and found the oven to be in safe condition.

At 6:35 p.m. Sunday evening they did a carbon monoxide check in Euclid Township. Nothing was found, the cause was unknown.

At 8:05 p.m. Sunday evening the Grand Forks Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in the 600-block of N 5th St. After a short search, a garage located at 618 N 5th St. was found to be on fire.
Fire crews made entry to the garage and quickly brought the fire under control and extinguished it. Damage is estimated at $10,000 to the structure and contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Thirteen firefighters from Grand Forks responded to the call and received assistance from the Grand Forks Police Department and Altru Ambulance.
