The Minnesota Department of Health released it’s COVID-19 Weekly Report (here) on Thursday. All information is updated through 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2. The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,047 new cases of COVID-19 and seven additional deaths. There were seven new cases reported in Polk County for a total of 211 cases in the county since the start of the pandemic. The 1,047 positive results came from 13,926 completed tests for a 7.5 percent positive rate.
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has updated the peak wind gusts from the severe thunderstorm that moved through the area on Wednesday night. The strongest peak gust was 64 miles per hour at the Grand Forks weather station. The Grand Forks Air Force base reported a gust of 59 miles per hour. The
