Crookston Public Schools has four new teachers in the elementary schools for the 2020-2021 school year. The new teachers are below – ELIZABETH ERICKSON Elizabeth Erickson has been a long-term substitute teacher in the Crookston School District and comes back to Crookston after teaching preschool at Hawley last year. “I’m from Barnesville originally,” said Erickson.
Evelyn Alvina Halverson age 80, of Crookston, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND, with her family by her side. Evelyn Alvina Anderson was born on June 27, 1940, on the family farm in Middle River, MN, the daughter of the late Albert and Edith (Nelson)
Adorine G. Bennes, 91, of Fertile, MN, passed away at Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile, on Sunday, August 30, 2020 under the care of her family and Hospice. The Minnesota Department of Health released it’s COVID-19 Weekly Report (here) on Thursday. All information is updated through 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2. Information on Polk County and the KROX listening area was pulled from the report and is below – Polk County Minnesota Tests 5,677 1,540,107 Positive Cases 211 78,123 Percent Positive Tests
The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,047 new cases of COVID-19 and seven additional deaths. There were seven new cases reported in Polk County for a total of 211 cases in the county since the start of the pandemic. The 1,047 positive results came from 13,926 completed tests for a 7.5 percent positive rate.
