BENEDICTINE LIVING COMMUNITY-CROOKSTON TO HOST FIRST ANNUAL ADULT PROM ON FRIDAY, MAY 3

The Benedictine Living Community-Crookston invites all adults to participate in the first-ever Adult Prom, which will be held on Friday, May 3, at the Crookston Eagles Club.

This Benedictine has put this event on to fundraise for a new wander guard system. The current system is currently 20 years old and has caused technical difficulties for residents and staff. “This is a bracelet monitor device that our high-risk residents and tenants can wear,” said Benedictine Living Community-Crookston Foundation Director Cassie Rudie, “This alerts staff when a person has gone out of an exit door. It’s essential to have this system in place, and this new wander guard system will be able to interact with our call-light system we installed a couple of years back.”

The Benedictine Living Community-Crookston has actively fundraised for this new system for nearly one year. They have put on fundraisers such as the annual Glow-Golf tournament at Minakwa Golf Course and Giving Hearts Day in an attempt to raise the money needed for the system.

Rudie commented that she and the staff at Benedictine brainstormed new and fun ways to fundraise and that the Adult Prom will be an opportunity for people to experience the nostalgia of prom in their later years. “We like to bring fun, engaging, new ideas when it comes to fundraising,” said Rudie, “This was something we thought would be new and fun to try out.”

The doors will open at the Crookston Eagles at 6:00 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. The tickets are $50 per person, which includes the meal and one drink ticket. The dinner choices will be either a New York Strip steak or a Walleye. Following the meal, guests will be encouraged to participate in the prom dance. The Eagles will have a DJ providing music, and the bar/festivities will be open until midnight.

Tickets are on sale and can be bought at the Benedictine Living Community-Crookston during their business hours, 8:00-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. If those times do not align with schedules, you can purchase tickets by calling the Benedictine at 218-281-3424, and tickets can be delivered to you by a staff member.
