Betty Marlene (Edwardson) Dormady was born on June 2, 1942, in Badger, MN, the daughter of Belmer and Manda (Knutson) Edwardson.  Betty attended Badger High School and graduated in 1961.  While in high school Betty worked in the Twin Cities – one summer as a nanny in Minneapolis and two summers at the Big Island Veterans Camp in Excelsior, MN.

Following high school, Betty attended nursing college in Crookston, MN.  While in Crookston, she met her future husband, William Patrick Dormady.  On August 7, 1965, Betty was united in marriage to William at the Crookston Cathedral.  They were blessed with a son, Brian in 1967.

In 1969 Betty and Bill moved to Thief River Falls, where they both became employed at Arctic Cat.  Betty continued to work for Arctic Cat until her retirement in 2008.

Throughout her life she enjoyed nature, fast-pitch softball with William, bowling, going to the shack near Fourtown, fishing, and spending time with friends, family and her pets (Spartacus, Steeler, Bud, and Shania). Betty was raised on a small farm the youngest of five sisters. The small farm created a superior work ethic that was known by all friends and family. Betty had to lend a helping hand and was sweet, kind, and always had a smile for everyone.

Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Teri; sisters, Blanche Goodwin and Jean (Earl) McKinley; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; sisters, Carol Kurtzman and Dorothy Anderson; brothers-in-law, Pete Goodwin, John W. Clark and Dale Anderson; and sisters-in-law, Kay Dormady and Mary Dormady Clark.
