POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ANNOUNCES NEW K9 UNIT

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced the addition of a new K9 team last week. The duo is Deputy Ben Stout and two-and-a-half-year-old K9 partner Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix Rex. Last Wednesday was Rex’s first day after graduating from K9 Training. Both Rex and Deputy Ben Stout attended handler training with Mark McDonough of McDonough K9

CITY OF FERTILE TO HAVE ANOTHER AERIAL MOSQUITO SPRAY

An aerial mosquito control application in the Fertile area, including the City of Fertile, Ridgewood Estates, and 105th Ave SW, on Tuesday, July 6 between 7-11:00 p.m., weather permitting Should the spray be rescheduled, it would then take place the following evening. These applications have been approved by the FAA and the appropriate state departments.

CLASSIC CRUISERS DONATE TO MEALS ON WHEELS AND OAKDALE CEMETERY

ARREST/FIRE REPORT – July 5, 2021

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston reported the following arrests – Jay John Amiot, 55 of Crookston, for third-degree assault, substantial bodily harm. Randy Jay Finley, 61 of St. Paul, was arrested for first degree aggravated robbery. Lynessa Jill Yankton, 34 of Grand Forks, for third degree drug possession of methamphetamine/amphetamine in a school/park/public
