LOCAL GOVERNMENT AID GETS INCREASE IN BUDGET DEAL

The City of Crookston will an increase an additional $136,267 in their Local Government Aid (LGA) after the special session omnibus bill increased funding for most cities involved in the LGA program.  The total increase for Crookston in 2020 will be $145,539, bringing its LGA funding to $3,852,782.  Crookston City Administrator Shannon Stassen said this

LEGISLATURE INCREASES K-12 FUNDING AND PROVIDES CROSS SUBSIDY RELIEF

STUDENTS AT WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY TOUR KROX, OTHER DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES

First graders at Washington Elementary were out touring and learning about different businesses downtown Thursday.  Steve Krueger gave the students a history lesson from records and ad cartridges that the station used for many years to use to the modern technology for digital recording and the AP news wire used today.

MOTORISTS URGED TO USE CAUTION IN WORK ZONES DURING MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

The Minnesota Department of Transportation encourages motorists to plan ahead before traveling Memorial Day weekend and use extra care while driving through work zones.
