This week’s Athlete of the Week is Crookston Pirate Boy’s Golfer Garrett Fischer. The freshman has led the Pirates all season being their top scorer and has taken tremendous strides at improving his game. The Crookston Pirate Softball team battled the wind, rain, and elements on Wednesday afternoon against the East Grand Forks Green Wave. The Pirates scored five runs in the fifth inning to take a big lead, but it wasn’t enough, as the Green Wave scored the final seven runs of the game for an 8-5 win.
