Chad “Chadwick” Horton- Obit

Chad “Chadwick” Horton, 42, Fertile, MN, passed away sadly and unexpectedly on Monday, October 11, 2021, at his home in Fertile.Chad “Chadwick” Horton

Chad Everette Horton was born on March 24, 1979, to Stephen Horton and Debra Heyen in Granbury, Texas. The family moved to Willard, Missouri, where they lived for 5 years. After his father’s passing, Chad moved with his mother and 3 brothers to Fargo, North Dakota, living there until 1993, when they then moved to Fertile. He attended high school until the 11th grade, and through hard work, was able to earn his GED. Chad was married 4 times and was blessed with 5 children, Michael, Nicole, Jayden, Zander, and Damon, whom he loved very much.

After getting his GED, Chad did many jobs including plumbing, carpentry, mechanics, and welding. He worked at American Crystal Sugar for many years, then at New Flyer where he met a lot of people and formed many, many friendships. Chad was a hard worker, no matter what he did, he was a little of a perfectionist with the way things got done and how the end result looked.

Chad enjoyed fishing with his son Damon, kayaking, riding his Harley, and working on things with his hands. He always tried to stay busy and have a project to work on. He very much enjoyed the time he could spend with friends and family and was always willing to help them out. With his work knowledge, he was an exceptional handyman, and able to fix many different things. If he didn’t know how to fix something, he would figure it out or find a way.

Chad is survived by his mother, Debra Horton-Kennedy; sister, Kisha (Zach) Pederson; brothers, Jason (Samantha) Horton and Brandon Horton; 5 children, Michael, Nicole, Jayden, Zander, and Damon; his fur-child, Tank; nephews, Tyson and Skyler; niece, Daja; several aunts and uncles; many cousins; girlfriend, Kasey; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Stephen Horton; stepfather, Steven Kennedy; brother, Aaron Horton; and unborn son, Isaac Horton.

Chad will be extremely missed by many.  He was truly one of a kind.  Bless the memory of Chad Everette Horton.
