Chris A. Fuglie – Obit

Chris A. Fuglie, age 50, of Ulen, MN, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her home.

Chris Ann Rodewald was born on November 28, 1972, in Moorhead, MN, to Verdon and Carol (Sahlberg) Rodewald. She grew up in Ulen and the surrounding areas and graduated from Ulen-Hitterdal High School with the class of 1991. On October 10, 1992, Chris married the love of her life, Scott Fuglie, and together they were blessed with two children, Charles and Amber. The Fuglie family made their home on a farm west of Ulen before moving to Scott’s family farm in 2000, where they have lived since. Chris spent most of her time as a homemaker, caring and cooking for her family. She enjoyed taking her children to the park and attending their activities. She also worked briefly at the café in Ulen for some years and was an Avon sales representative.

Family was the utmost priority in Chris’s life. She supported them in many ways and made many lasting memories including playing with the kids at the park, swimming at the state park, and supervising class trips, a 6th-grade trip to Duluth being a favorite. She also liked their yearly family trip to the Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag, MN. Time spent at the lake was always a favorite and she also enjoyed tagging along when they went fishing. In her quiet time, Chris kept busy with cross stitch, crossword puzzles, and occasionally quilting at the church. Most recently, Chris loved her new role as grandma. Her kind spirit and giving heart will be forever cherished by her loved ones.

Chris is survived by her husband of 30 years, Scott Fuglie; children: Charles Fuglie and Amber (Dylan) Eckert; grandchildren: Sarah, Lucas, and Natalie; mother, Carol Rodewald; siblings: Jeff (Becky) Rodewald, Jim Rodewald, and Jackie (Dave) Rosman; mother-in-law, Kathryn Fuglie; brothers-in-law, Delmon (Ann) Fuglie, John Fuglie, and Mark (Tammy) Fuglie; and many nieces and nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by her father, Verdon Rodewald; father-in-law, Duane Fuglie; nephew, Jake Fuglie; and niece, Emily Fuglie.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation starting one hour before, at Maranatha Free Lutheran Church, Ulen.
