On Tuesday, November 19th, a recruiter for Valley Plains Equipment visited Mr. Oliver’s Beginning Welding classes at Crookston High School. The recruiter, Casey Koop, is based in Fargo, ND, and visits High Schools and Colleges all over the region and in multiple states. Koop visits with students about their interest in many fields, mainly in Diesel Mechanics. As a company, they want to add staff to many locations throughout the valley. He talked about some of the incentives that Valley Plains has for students looking for a career in mechanics. Mr. Olivers says he is always appreciative of companies that are willing to take time to visit with his students here in Crookston. Mr. Oliver would like to thank Valley Plains and Casey Koop. Mr. Oliver says he likes to present opportunities to the students, but it is ultimately the student’s responsibility to follow through on that chance.
