CLIMAX-FISHER KNIGHTS GIRLS BASKETBALL FALLS TO KITTSON COUNTY CENTRAL

The Climax-Fisher Knights Girls Basketball team lost to the Kittson County Central Bearcats by a score of 78-41 in a Section 8A matchup played at Fisher High School.

FIRST HALF-
Climax-Fisher started off with Peyton Hoffman nabbing an offensive rebound and scoring a lay-up on the Knight’s first possession. Kittson County Central responded with an 8-0 run, including a jumper from Morgan Turn, with 16:00 left to make it 8-2. Climax-Fisher ended the run when Camebre Solheim passed it to Halle Reitmeier, and she drained a jumper to make it 8-4.
It was back and forth for the next few minutes before Kittson County Central went on a 10-0 run to make it 23-8 with under 12 minutes left in the half. A Claire Erickson lay-up ended the run, and it was back and forth for the next few minutes.
Reitmeier made a lay-up for the Knights to make it 29-15 before the Bearcats went on another 10-0 run, including Turn making her fourth three-pointer of the half to give Kittson County Central a 39-15 lead. A Reitmeier free throw ended the run.
Reitmeier got a steal and passed it to Solheim, who made the lay-up to make it 41-19. Kittson County Central’s Hanna Warnke also got a steal and made the lay-up to make it 43-19 before Lucy Paulsrud made a buzzer-beating lay-up to make it 43-21 Bearcats at the half.

SECOND HALF –
Kittson County Central started the second half on a 7-0 run, including a Beryln Strege steal and lay-up to give the Bearcats a 52-21 lead. Climax-Fisher ended the run when Ella Paulsrud got a steal, and Peyton Hoffman made the lay-up. The Bearcat’s Kaydence White made two consecutive lay-ups to make it 56-23 before Erickson made a lay-up, and Reitmeier made a jumper to make it 56-27.
Kittson County Central went on a 10-1 over the next five minutes before Solheim made a lay-up to make it 66-30. It was back and forth for a couple of minutes before Reitmeier made a lay-up to make it 72-34 with seven minutes to go.
Running time started, and after a pair of free throws from free throws from Hoffman, the Bearcats went on a 4-0 run to make it 78-36. Hoffman scored the last five points of the game, and the game ended with Kittson County Central winning by a score of 78-41.

Climax-Fisher falls to 1-3 on the season and hosts Park Christian tomorrow. Kittson County Central improves to 3-0 and takes on Red Lake Falls tomorrow.
