CROOKSTON AREA COMMUNITY FUND AWARDS SIX AREA ENTITIES WITH GRANT FUNDING

The Crookston Area Community Fund has awarded grants to six area entities totaling $25,000. Recipients include Golden Link Senior Center, University of Minnesota Crookston Allen and Freda Pedersen Garden, Crookston Fire Department Union, Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority Oak Court Housing, Adam Parnow Foundation Get Kids Outdoors, and Prairie Skyline Foundation. 

Golden Link Senior Center received a grant towards their renovation project, U of M Crookston for the renewed Allen and Freda Pedersen Garden project for the community, CFD for a new initiative granting senior citizens with a home survey and carbon monoxide detector, Oak Court for their special meal initiative for residents, Get Kids Outdoors for ice fishing supplies for events, and Prairie Skyline for kids art classes.

“Our community has many ambitious and innovative projects happening,” said Shirley Iverson, CACF board chair. “Our grant committee appreciated every application. This round, we funded projects that were ready to go and could be accomplished by the end of 2024. As the Crookston Area Community Fund continues to grow, more projects can be funded in the future.”

The Crookston Area Community Fund (CACF) is a component fund of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.
