CROOKSTON BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT UND INDOOR FACILITY

The Crookston Pirate Boys and Girls Track teams competed in the East Grand Forks Indoor Invitational at the University of North Dakota Fritz Pollard Jr. Indoor facility in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The Crookston girls finished 8th out of 14 teams with West Marshall winning the meet with 131.5 points.  The Pirate boys finished 13th out of 13 teams, while East Grand Forks won the meet.

GIRLS –
Crookston had two third-place finishes, with Maddie Harbott turning in a personal best of 13:39.58. Harbott’s time was also a new school record in the 3,000 meters. Chloe Boll also turned in a third-place finish in the pole vault with a vault of 7 feet 6 inches. The next best finishes for the Pirate girls came from two throwers. Naomi Johnson had a personal-best throw of 28 feet 1.5 inches for sixth place in the shot put. Kamryn Proulx also turned in a personal best with a throw of 27 feet and 11.5 inches for seventh place. Nora Groven also earned points for the Pirates, with a seventh-place finish in the pole vault, which was six feet and six inches high. The 4×800 relay team of Katelyn Christensen, Bailey Turnwall, Maddie Harbott, and Brooklyn Waldal finished seventh place.

BOYS-
The Pirate Boys only recorded two points in the meet, with Kahnen Hanson recording a point with an eighth-place finish in the 3,000-meter race with a time of 12 minutes flat. The other point was recorded by Peter Wiersma, who had an eighth-place finish in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 25.74 seconds. Wiersma also finished ninth place in the long jump. Jayden Mulvey finished ninth place in the 1500 meters with a time of just under five minutes. 

Crookston will compete in their first outdoor meet of the season on Tuesday when they travel to Thief River Falls.
