Everybody has a soft spot for babies. And the Crookston Area Chamber Board of Directors is no different, only they’ve taken it to a new level with a rather impressive feat. Over the past two years, the members of the board have collectively had nine babies and most of them got together for a photo last week.
Chamber Executive Director Terri Heggie joked there was either something in the coffee and water or somebody missed something in fine print on the chamber board contracts. “Since I started in January 2018, chamber board of directors have had nine babies in that time,” said Heggie. “Was there something in the water and coffee during our chamber board of directors meetings? Obviously, the chamber board of directors did not read the small print that said you need to have a child during your term. But, what a cute story this is and it’s very unique in a short period of time to have that many children born to a board.”

The Chamber recently unveiled a new logo and motto “Crookston Grow With Us” which Heggie said the Chamber Board has really taken to heart. “If you’ll recall, about a month and a half ago we rolled out our new logo for the Chamber which is Crookston Grow With Us,” said Heggie. “I just want to say our board of directors give 100 percent because they are literally growing with us.”
Heggie also joked that additional babies during a board member’s second term are optional.
